Instead of being discarded, tin cans are repurposed into new life through the Recycled Can Light collection, showcasing a variety of creative ways to give these materials a fresh purpose.
Each recycled lamp consists of two food cans: one conceals the lighting components, while the other serves as the shade and reflector. The lamp’s curved wood arm serves as the centerpiece of its design. Chosen for its ability to contrast with the cans’ polished metal surface and provide a softer touch, the wood’s exaggerated form adds character to the piece. Secured with wooden pins to a recycled plastic mounting bracket, the arm offers full swivel functionality, allowing the lamp to function as a pendant, wall sconce, or table lamp.
At the end of its use, the Can Light is easily dismantled and its components returned to their original cycle. The wood will biodegrade in the earth, the plastic melted into a new form, and the cans will continue on their journey to be reimagined as new steel.
