The Nomao Hotel is a tribute to the diverse cultures of the indigenous peoples in Canada. The hostel will not only be a place to stay, but also a cultural centre that puts the indigenous people and heritage at the forefront. Nomao aims to help bridge the gap between western and indigenous ways of knowing in a positive way, while offering a community gathering place for indigenous and non-indigenous people alike.

Bedrooms

In a hostel, the bed serves not just as a place to sleep, but also as a private sanctuary from the bustling atmosphere of public spaces. As we spend a significant portion of our lives in bed, its design holds immense importance in the hospitality experience. To create a comfortable and inviting space, hostel bed design must meet the needs of guests and provide a welcoming retreat at the end of each day.

Explored bunk bed designs for hostel accommodations.

For this project, extensive research was conducted to understand indigenous cultures of Canada, ensuring respectful and authentic representation throughout.
